The current direction is categorical-algebraic. Formal grammars define representational regimes; states inhabit path-dependent possibility spaces; admissibility determines lawful states and transforms; categorical structure governs composition; algebraic structure governs operations inside particular regimes; closure and defect track completion, mismatch, loss, obstruction, and repair.

Formal Representation Mechanics
Develop Boundary Theory into a rigorous grammar-centered framework for decomposition, admissible transformation, closure, defect, and lawful recomposition of representations.
This page describes the goal, work that already exists, and the main unresolved problems. It does not claim scientific validation, deployed capability, external adoption, market value, or inevitability.
Moonshots indexWHAT THIS GOAL MEANS TODAY
The current interpretation, footholds, and open problems.
The in-house Distinction Space term is provisionally grounded as a path-dependent possibility space: lawful continuation can depend on the path or history by which a represented state was reached. The open burden is to connect that formulation cleanly to established mathematics and produce nontrivial witness results without renaming existing structure unnecessarily.

Current formal compression
One useful compression of the emerging mechanics is a sequence of bounded construction, lawful transformation, and tested recomposition.
- 01
Bound: establish the representational regime.
- 02
Distinguish: expose the state-bearing differences that matter.
- 03
Grammarize: declare admissible constructions and operations.
- 04
Transform: apply lawful state or representation changes.
- 05
Close: test the declared completion or stabilization conditions.
- 06
Recompose: return the transformed local result to a larger regime without silently losing required structure.
