MOONSHOTS · Networked bounded contribution

Distributed Scientific Intelligence

A distributed research network where people, agents, formal solvers, simulations, instruments, and institutions can contribute bounded work to shared state.

OBJECTIVE02 / 08
PROGRAMMoonshots
STATUSLong-horizon research goal
IMPORTANT LIMITThis is a direction, not a completed result.

This page describes the goal, work that already exists, and the main unresolved problems. It does not claim scientific validation, deployed capability, external adoption, market value, or inevitability.

WHAT THIS GOAL MEANS TODAY

The current interpretation, footholds, and open problems.

Where the research is unresolved, the description remains provisional.
01

A node should not need the entire Lab in context. It should receive a typed work unit with relevant state, goal, constraints, authority, evidence requirements, and a validation contract, then return a result that can be evaluated independently.

02

The unresolved problems are coordination problems as much as intelligence problems: identity, synchronization, conflict reconciliation, evidence transport, reproducible execution, authority across institutions, and governance for open contribution.

Candidate interface

Minimum distributed contract

A distributed contribution becomes meaningful when the receiving system can determine what was authorized, what changed, and what evidence supports the change.

  1. 01

    Relevant input state is explicit.

  2. 02

    Goal and constraints are bounded.

  3. 03

Authority is carried with the work rather than inferred.

  4. 04

Evidence and provenance requirements are known before execution.

  5. 05

Validation can occur independently of the worker that produced the result.

PROGRAM CONTEXT

One research goal inside a larger long-horizon program.
